Nagle’s Dick Swanson Retires

By . Posted on in Company News, People Behind the Pumps

A longtime fixture at Nagle Pumps, Applications ‘Guru’ Dick Swanson will retire this month after nearly 20 years of service.

Dick first joined Nagle as Purchasing Manager in 1998, holding the role for 5 years before moving to a new opportunity outside the company. He returned to Nagle in 2007 in Sales and Applications. He’s been helping customers specify pumps for a wide range of challenging applications ever since.

One of his most memorable applications was for the Saudi Electric Company. Over the course of the two-year project, Dick sold a total of 196 Nagle pumps. The massive order included a combination of all the models Nagle produces: vertical cantilever, vertical submerged bearing, submersible, and horizontal pumps.

The rest of the Nagle team will miss Dick’s pump expertise and his sense of humor around the office.

“Dick is a committed and dedicated employee.  Over his years here at Nagle he has gained great knowledge in our pump applications and will be missed by all,” commented Patty Smith, Production Manager.  “He is also good at getting a laugh out of people. We wish him to enjoy life to its fullest after retirement.”

In retirement, Dick plans to spend more time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

While all of us at Ruthman Companies will miss Dick, we are grateful for his many years of service to the company, supporting and promoting our products. Please join us in wishing him a long and happy retirement.
